I had spent the summer prior reading some books from the author Malcolm Gladwell, so I had the idea to write about one of his more famous books, Outliers. Gladwell always seemed to have a persuasive tone in the way he writes, so I thought him as an ideal choice for a rhetorical essay. I struggled at some points throughout this essay process since I had trouble summarizing and rephrasing points into my own words in order to make my points. Overall, I enjoyed writing this essay and it was my first academic one in nearly five years.
